2019 – September Presidents’ Message

2019 – September Presidents’ Message

Our program for September was a demonstration by Barbara Tilden of CPR. It was a great presentation and many members actively got involved. I want to thank Barbara Tilden for this very valuable demonstration that gives all of us some very important information in case of an emergency. I want to thank Suzann Jackson once again for her fine quilted items. These donations really help our raffles and our club financially! I would like to thank Richard Janson for his donation of a set of speakers for our use with a laptop for future videos and DVDs. Next month’s program will be a Pumpkin Carving Contest, presented by Jeri and Rick Coffey. Bring your carving tools, pumpkin, gourd, or squash, and grandkids to help you There will be prizes for the children and a prize for the pumpkin Best of Show!

As I write this, many members are getting ready to leave for the New England Regional Meet hosted by the Western Mass A’s, September 13th to 15th. I am sure that they will all have a great time.

September 22  11 AM to 3 PM, will be the meet at Grove Manor in Braintree as they will be holding their car show once again.   All clubs are invited.  MARCOM has attended in the past. Members bringing a car will receive up to two lunch tickets per car.

For further details regarding tours or parades, please see the information on the website, newsletter or contact the Tour Chairperson, Mike Kelly. Anyone who desires to run a tour, or has an idea for a tour, kindly contact Mike.

In my last President’s Message, I mentioned members that I saw at the Waterbury, Vermont Car Show (previously the Stowe, Vermont Car Show). I find that I had missed mentioning that Nan and Doug Linden were also in attendance.

We have programs slated for the remaining of the year, but any members who would like to present a program or have ideas for a program at a future meeting, kindly contact me, or any Board member. For any updates regarding the club’s functions, please go to the website and view the calendar.
